About the event

"Owning Your One Wild & Precious Life" with Emily Snyder Burrup

Shop Talk Series. Presentation followed by Q+A

We’re excited to launch a new series at The Workshop where we learn together from professionals, creatives, and everyone in between. We love highlighting the incredible talent in our community, and each "Shop Talk" session will feature instruction during the first half of class, followed by a Q&A moderated by founder, Melissa Wood. Join us for light snacks, great conversation, and an evening designed to inspire.

Do you ever forget that you are the star of your story? Of ever get tired of days of seasons that feel like the same old? Sometimes it just takes a little bit of a reminder and permission sprinkled in with creative thinking to remember this is your one and only wild and precious life.

Come join us as we do just that. Share reminders, give permissions, and get creative in helping each other own their lives in this precious season.

TEACHER: Emily Snyder Burrup loves collecting experiences and loves inviting people to take their thinking one step deeper than usual.

With a teacher-heart, she graduated from BYU with a degree in Elementary Education. From there Emily has had a variety of professional “chapters” in her life: she has taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade; worked for the general Relief Society presidency; helped run Professor Clayton Christensen’s world at the Harvard Business School; was the Chief of Staff at Magnolia (Chip and Joanna Gaines’ company in Waco, TX); was president at Establish Design; and was a Manager of Audience Engagement and Growth for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Currently, Emily is the Chief of Staff at Degreed, a Learning Experience Platform, but no matter where she is, she loves creating meaningful communities.

Emily received her Master of Business Administration at Columbia Business School in Manhattan. She gets to teach Sunday School to the 15-16 year olds in her congregation, served a mission in the St. Petersburg, Russia, and is working on her annual round of birthday goals - one of which is to get her new home in order since getting married over a year ago!
