Are you interested in beginning apparel sewing? Do you love creating unique pieces you can wear? This class is for you. Instructor Jandee Jones will demonstrate and give you the tools so you can follow along to create your own wearable heirloom. Whether you are repurposing a family keepsake or just giving life to an unused textile this easy satisfying project will give you the understanding of how to move onto future textile repurposing projects.

This is a great class for beginners with little to no sewing experience, but even seasoned seamstresses will enjoy this class where students will leave with a finished item. This is a hands-on learning class where students will come away with a finished garment of a reversible vest and the information and pattern to make future projects utilizing these techniques.

WHAT'S INCLUDED: Instruction, pattern, all sewing machines/implements/accessories needed to make the project.

WHAT STUDENTS WILL NEED TO PROVIDE:  Textile to repurpose such as quilt, table cloth, tree skirt, blanket, any textile you are drawn to repurposing. Complimentary double fold bias tape. Exact yardage with some preliminary tips will be sent by instructor in the weeks leading up to the class.

WHO'S INVITED: Anyone ages 13+

If you want to accompany a child younger than 13, let us know! If you're there to supervise, that works for us!

TEACHER: Jandee Jones grew up on farm here in Pleasant Grove, Utah and the old adage "Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, or Do without," was really a key part of her family culture.  As a classically trained ballerina she has always been a seeker and lover of beautiful things and its second nature for her view life through the creative lens.  With long experience in hand crafting and sewing  and a love of all things vintage and old has lead Jandee to experiment and perfect all types of repurposing projects.  She loves the idea of giving something a new life and there is something so charming about seeing things presented in an unexpected way.  Jandee has been been a featured contributor on KSL Studio 5 and along with her husband, Jordan, (a fine art painter whose work you can see at www.jordanjonesart.com) has been carefully curating a home and garden full of unexpected whimsy and fun repurposed projects!  With long experience as an instructor she can't wait to keep share her knowledge and keep you entertained for a night of creativity and fun.  She is not an avid social media user, but you can see a few of her projects on her instagram accounts  @fancifulcharm and @jandeejo)
