Hands-on Workshop

Join us for a playful, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how simple—and satisfying—it is to craft your own nourishing lip balm. We’ll begin with a brief, beginner-friendly introduction to the basics: botanical oils, plant butters, natural waxes, and how they work together to create a smooth, moisturizing balm. Lelia will demonstrate how to make lovely lip balm for everyone in class. Finally, participants will be given their own portion of a lip balm base to customize. Choose your favorite scents, add a touch of color or tint if you like, and pour your creations into your own set of tubes or tins.

Everyone will go home with:

• A class-made lip balm

• A small batch of your own custom creations

• A detailed handout with guidance, tips, and recipes

This workshop is fun, easy, and wonderfully rewarding! Just a few simple ingredients & you’ve made a useful, everyday cosmetic that’s truly your own.

WHO'S INVITED: Anyone ages 10+ (If you want to accompany a child younger than 10, let us know! If you're there to supervise, that works for us!)

TEACHER: Lelia (pronounced Lee-la) Lyon is an Alpine resident of 10 years with a passion for making DIY natural body care products. Her interest started as a teenager looking to learn how to make lip balm and lead her to study herbal medicine and nutrition in Colorado. Eventually she shifted into a career in the natural foods industry, ultimately landing her dream job in an herbal apothecary helping customers and teaching body care classes. Now she has retired from the industry, and she devotes her time at home with her kids. She is an enthusiastic teacher and loves to teach classes to encourage her students to have good clean bubbly fun!

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: Due to the nature of the prep work required for in-person events, we do not offer refunds once a workshop has been purchased. However, if you are no longer able to attend the workshop, you can send us an email with the name of the person to whom we should transfer the ticket.
