About the event

Intro to Needlepoint with Caroline Monson from Kitty's Needlepoint

Hands-on Workshop

Whether you’re brand new to needlepoint or looking to build a strong foundation, this beginner-friendly class is the perfect place to start. You’ll learn the essentials of needlepoint, including how to thread your needle, read a canvas, and master the basketweave stitch.

As part of the class, you’ll stitch and complete your own luggage tag to take home, giving you a finished project while learning the fundamentals. All materials are included, including your canvas, thread, needle, scissors, and everything needed to complete your luggage tag.

By the end of class, you’ll have the confidence and skills to begin stitching larger needlepoint canvases and continue your new creative hobby!

TEACHER: Caroline Monson is the founder of Kitty’s Needlepoint, a modern needlepoint shop and creative gathering space in Alpine, Utah. Creativity has always been at the heart of her career. She studied Fashion and Textile Design at NC State University before working in the apparel industry with baggallini, Kroger, and Under Armour. She later transitioned into marketing in the tech industry before leaving the corporate world to open Kitty’s Needlepoint.

Needlepoint became Caroline’s creative outlet during a busy season of life, and she quickly discovered it was so much more than a hobby. It’s relaxing, rewarding, and a chance to slow down and create something beautiful by hand. That passion inspired her to create a welcoming space where others could learn, connect, and fall in love with the craft.

Whether you’re picking up a needle for the very first time or looking to build confidence with the basics, Caroline’s classes are designed to be approachable, encouraging, and fun. Her goal is for every student to leave with a new skill, a project they’re excited to continue, and the confidence to keep stitching long after class ends.
