WHO'S INVITED: Anyone ages 12+ (If you want to accompany a child younger than 12, let us know! If you're there to supervise, that works for us!)
TEACHER: Born in the Netherlands and raised in both Canada and Utah, Joanna Lyons grew up in a household where Indonesian cuisine was an everyday standard, as familiar as tacos are to most Americans. Thanks to her parents, who immigrated from the Netherlands, the dinner table was always filled with the incredible flavors of Indonesian and Chinese cuisine, all lovingly prepared by her talented mom.
Her passion for cooking eventually led her to culinary school at Utah Valley University, where she graduated in 2025. Today, Joanna loves recreating the recipes she grew up with while adding her own creative twist. Whether she's teaching a new technique, sharing family favorites, or hosting friends around the table, her goal is simple: bring people together through delicious food, great stories, and a little bit of fun. Joanna teaches cooking classes out of her home in Cedar Hills.
