Hands-on Workshop

In this class, we will learn basic principles of floral design by making a centerpiece arrangement. All attendees will be expected to provide their own flowers (we're calling this BYOB, or "Bring Your Own Blooms")! This is a great opportunity to use the flowers from your yard that will be plentiful in late September, or to pop into your local Trader Joe's to find things you'd like to design with. The goal here is to provide floral design instruction at a lower cost than usual, and with resources you'll always be able to access yourself without the assistance of a florist. 

We will focus on making a flower-heavy statement piece with a light and airy structure. The week of the class, Anna will be sending out an email to all attendees breaking down what kind of blooms & foliage they should bring with them. Each person will be expected to use this bucket of blooms they bring themselves, although trading is of course welcomed if you have an abundance of anything!

The first half of class will be a demo and instruction from Anna, followed by each attendee making their own floral centerpiece. Each student will receive a small compote vase to take their creations home in, as well as other small mechanics that are helpful for arranging at home. This class is great for those who have plentiful flowers in their yard & want to level up the way they display them in their home.

COST: $55 ($5 off when you sign up with a pal!)

WHO'S INVITED: Anyone age 12+ (If you want to accompany a child younger than 12, let us know! If you're there to supervise, that works for us!)

TEACHER: Anna Kendall (instagram: @kindredfloraldesign) is the owner and lead designer of Kindred Floral, located in Lehi, Utah. She comes from a three-generation line of florists, learning flower care and design from the hands of her mother, and has been working in the wedding floral industry professionally since 2019. Anna loves all things creative, and takes her inspiration from the natural world, aiming to make romantic and whimsical designs full of movement. When she's not caring for breakable blooms, Anna cares for her two breakable children with her husband, and tries to soak up sunshine as much as is humanly possible.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: Due to the nature of the prep work required for in-person events, we do not offer refunds once a workshop has been purchased. However, if you are no longer able to attend the workshop, you can send us an email with the name of the person to whom we should transfer the ticket.
