About the event

Craft a Terrarium Workshop with Lelia Lyon

Hands-on Workshop

A terrarium is a miniature living world; an enchanting, self-contained landscape that brings the wonder of nature into your home. Come join whimsy enthusiast Lelia Lyon in a 2 hour, hands-on workshop designed to bring a little light into the long winter days.

Participants will design and build their own terrarium. First learning the basic steps to ensure a successful display. Then design and finally blend moss, small ferns, vining plants, stones, crystals or even minifigures to create a unique and one-of-a-kind display for their homes.

Terrariums require minimal care, yet they offer endless delight to observe. Each one becomes a tiny ecosystem with its own personality—part science, part storybook, and always a bit magical!

WHAT'S INCLUDED: Participants will have fun hands-on experiencing crafting a medium sized terrarium. All supplies will be provided. The students will have access to a variety of plants and accessories to create their own unique terrarium. Included the container, soil, miniature ferns, plants, moss, decorative rocks, crystals and figurines.

DATE: Saturday, January 31st

TIME: 6:30 - 8:30pm

COST: $50

WHO'S INVITED: Anyone ages 10+ (If you want to accompany a child younger than 10, let us know! If you're there to supervise, that works for us!)

TEACHER: Lelia (pronounced Lee-la) Lyon is an Alpine resident of 10 years with a passion for making DIY natural body care products. Her interest started as a teenager looking to learn how to make lip balm and lead her to study herbal medicine and nutrition in Colorado. Eventually she shifted into a career in the natural foods industry, ultimately landing her dream job in an herbal apothecary helping customers and teaching body care classes. Now she has retired from the industry, and she devotes her time at home with her kids. She is an enthusiastic teacher and loves to teach classes to encourage her students to have good clean bubbly fun!

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: Due to the nature of the prep work required for in-person events, we do not offer refunds once a workshop has been purchased. However, if you are no longer able to attend the workshop, you can send us an email with the name of the person to whom we should transfer the ticket.
