Hands-on Workshop
Join us for an exciting evening where art and bookbinding intersect! Book arts is the creative practice of designing and making books where the physical form and content become an integrated artistic expression.
We’ll use the alpha stitch to create a beautiful softcover book that can be used as a journal, sketchbook, notebook, or given as a lovely gift. We’ll provide everything you need to make your very own book. By the end of the class, you'll be prepared to make more books on your own using many different materials that can be found around your home.
DATE: Saturday, October 10th
TIME: 10:00 am - noon
COST: $55
WHO'S INVITED: Anyone ages 14+ (If you want to accompany a child younger than 14, let us know! If you're there to supervise, that works for us!)
TEACHER: Originally from Pennsylvania, Angie Fisher spent the last 30 years living in San Diego before retiring from a career in education and moving to Pleasant Grove in April of 2026 to be closer to family. With an educator's passion for reading, and a need for creative expression, she combined these two interests into making books as works of art. A member of the Handmade Book Club, a global book arts community, she continues to refine her craft one book at a time. Now, Angie shares her hobby with others who enjoy book arts as family treasures, gifts, and remembrances. In her spare time, she loves riding her new e-bike on Utah trails, movie nights with her grandchildren and doodling.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: Due to the nature of the prep work required for in-person events, we do not offer refunds once a workshop has been purchased. However, if you are no longer able to attend the workshop, you can send us an email with the name of the person to whom we should transfer the ticket.
