About the event

Flower Pressing Workshop with Whitney Olsen from Wallflowers by Whit

Hands-on Workshop

Join local botanical artist Whitney Olsen for a hands-on workshop in the art of flower pressing and design! You’ll start by learning proper flower-pressing techniques, practicing with a selection of fresh blooms using a small flower press that is yours to take home and use season after season. Next, Whitney will guide you through the intricacies of pressed flower composition as you design and assemble your own framed botanical wall hanging.

All materials are included in the workshop price. You’ll receive a complete kit for your wall hanging, including a set of pre-pressed flowers, frame, glue, and tweezers. We'll also be using fresh blooms and your very own small flower press to take home!

DATE: Saturday, August 29th

TIME: 10:00 am - noon

COST: $80

WHO'S INVITED: Anyone ages 10+ (If you want to accompany a child younger than 10, let us know! If you're there to supervise, that works for us!)

TEACHER: Whit Olsen (instagram: wallflowers.by.whit) is a dedicated pressed flower artist who transforms backyard blooms into meticulously crafted botanical compositions, custom keepsake jewelry, and lasting floral art. Her deep love for florals began in her childhood mother’s flower shop and blossomed into a full-time passion in 2019 after her husband built her first flower press. Today, she carefully preserves blooms grown in her own perennial garden to capture nature's intricate beauty.

Beyond creating original pieces, Whit loves sharing her craft by hosting online and in-person flower pressing workshops. Her work can be found at local Utah boutiques like Beespoke and Benrik, at regional markets like the Beehive Bazaar, and online on her website: https://wallflowersbywhit.shop/.

Whit lives in Orem, Utah, with her husband, two sons, and their dog, Bob.
